Home visits are available for those patients who are housebound, too unwell or have a disability that prevents them from attending an appointment at the surgery. Home visits for reasons of convenience or transport will be declined.
We ask for all home visit requests to be made by 11:00am daily wherever possible to allow the GP’s more time to plan accordingly. Please be prepared to supply our admin team with an idea of symptoms and the medical problem. This helps us to prioritise the requests and all information is completely confidential.
When a request for home visit is made via the phone it will be passed straight on to our Duty Doctor. Usually requests for visits will be considered at the end of morning surgery (unless urgent) and the GP will phone the patient prior to attending. Often a telephone consultation with the appropriate medical advice is more than sufficient for many everyday illnesses.
