Home visits are available for those patients who are housebound, too unwell, disabled or frail to be able to come to the surgery. Home visits for reasons of convenience or transport will be declined.
We ask that all requests for visits for that day be made by 11.00am. Please be prepared to supply the admin team with some idea of the symptoms and problem. This helps us to prioritise the requests and, of course, all information is treated in the strictest confidence.
When a request is made by phone or in person, the message will be relayed to the doctors via a message book. Usually the requests for visits will be considered at the end of morning surgery (unless urgent) and the doctor will either telephone you with medical advice or arrange to visit. Often a telephone consultation with the appropriate medical advice will more than suffice for many everyday illnesses.
